The U.S. State Department has offered to provide $100 million in direct humanitarian assistance and free satellite internet to Cubans. The State Department accused the Cuban regime of refusing to accept the aid distributed in coordination with the Catholic Church and other independent organizations. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted the failures of Cuba's National Electric Energy System (SES), blaming the United States' "genocidal energy blockade" for these failures. U.N. Rep. Carlos Giménez used X to raise awareness about Cuban protesters and demand the release of political prisoners.
