From a busy N.J. road to a rehab pool — this rescued seal’s journey is almost complete

A rescued grey seal was found on Long Beach Island earlier in the year and has since reached a healthy weight and is close to full recovery. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center was alerted to the rescue after a passerby noticed the seal on a beach path and alerted them. The center transported the seal back to its headquarters in Brigantine for treatment. The rehabilitation process will take place in a pool to build her muscles and increase her diving endurance.
