WNBA Players’ Minimum Salaries Just Quadrupled From $66,079 to $300,000 In New Contract

The Women's National Basketball Players’ Association (WNBPA) has reached a fair agreement with the union’s board of governors after 17 months of negotiations. The new contract, which includes a minimum salary of $300,000, nearly quadruple the previous minimum of $66,079, will reportedly be a seven-year deal with an opt-out after Year 6. The salary cap will be $7 million, a significant increase from the previous $1.5 million in 2025, and reach $10 million by the end of the deal in 2033. The agreement has yet to be ratified.
