AI boosted one of the worst forms of abusive content on the internet

A report by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) has revealed a significant increase in AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online in 2025, marking a 14% increase year on year. The rise in this type of content is also attributed to the rise in video content, which has seen an increase of 260-fold increase. The report highlighted that 65% of the videos analyzed were classified as the most severe type of abuse. The accessibility of these material has also significantly decreased, making it harder for law enforcement and platforms to remove.
