The Justice Department has withdrawn an investigation into former President Joe Biden's use of an autopen, citing lack of a relevant criminal statute. The probe was initiated by current Justice Department pardon attorney and former "weaponization" czar Ed Martin while he was serving as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. It was recently winded down under US Attorney Jeannie Pirro, a longtime Trump ally. The case was never presented to a grand jury, unlike an attempt by Pirro's office to bring forward against six members of Congress. This comes after President Donald Trump demanded a wide-ranging investigation into Biden and officials in his administration following claims from the House Oversight Committee that aides used autopen signatures to hide the former president's "cognitive decline".
