The Tigers' home opener usually occurs in early April, but this year's weather has been unpredictable. Last year's first home game was on April 4th, after heavy rain and flooding, with temperatures reaching 51° for the afternoon high. The previous year, on April 5th, was chilly, with snowflakes falling on Comerica Park and temperatures reaching 49°. However, the current home opener will be on Friday, with high temperatures in Detroit expected to be in the low 70s. The game will be played in the mid-20s, with a west-southwest wind at 15-20 mph and rainfall chances returning.
