Lurie Children’s Hospital in Illinois has awarded a $100,000 grant to its program, Resilience-Supportive Schools Illinois, which provides free mental health resources to schools across the state. The grant will help the hospital train more teachers and administrators to better support students. The program is now being used in 800 schools across 82 counties. Program director Mashana Smith anticipates an increase in demand as districts prepare to implement mandated student mental health screenings for the 2027-2028 school year. The funding was provided by Molina Healthcare's MolinaCares Accord and will allow Lurie Children's Hospital to bring its resources to more school communities.
