The Iraqi government has reported that a foreign woman journalist was kidnapped and it is working to secure her release. The interior ministry did not identify the journalist, but it confirmed that security forces were able to arrest one of the suspects and seize a vehicle used in the crime. Alex Plitsas, a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council and a former Pentagon official, posted on social platform X that the kidnapped journalist is Shelly Kittleson and that he is her designated U.S. point of contact.
