Heritage president: MAGA tensions over Iran war ‘good’

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts, head of the influential conservative think tank, has stated that tensions within the GOP and Make America Great Again movement over President Trump's Iran war are "good" as they acknowledge the president's decision to launch the war, despite dissent from figures like Joe Kent, the former counterterrorism director who resigned over the war. Kent argued that Iran posed no imminent threat to America's security and blamed Israel and its "American lobby" for pressuring Trump into the fight. Roberts also criticized left-wing politics for enforcing "intellectual totalitarianism" and suggested that while Heritage is not "bound by the same loyalty" as administration officials, it is supportive of the military operation. The nearly three-week war in the Middle East was not on the official agenda.
