The Big Pop Show, a youth-led music festival in North Carolina, will be held on March 20 and 23 at various venues in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Durham. The event is being run by volunteers from three local musicians: Lilian Fan, Charlotte Kane, and Eli Schmitt, who live in the Triangle and two from Chicago. The festival is volunteer-run, with all proceeds going to the bands. It also includes support from Duke Coffeehouse and UNC's student radio stations, WXDU and WXYC. The organizers chose artists they know or admire rather than booking agencies. This year's event will expand from a one-day event to four, offering an authentic taste of what it is like to live in North America.
