Millions of Californians urged to lock themselves indoors as heat wave smashes state — here’s where

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Ventura counties, warning of dangerous conditions that could lead to heat-related illness. Forecasters predict temperatures could reach the 90s across much of the region, with 93 to 98 expected in the inland areas. The heat could pose a higher risk of illness for young children, older adults, and those without a cooling system.
