Small business owners from across Kansas met with Senator Roger Marshall and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) to discuss key issues affecting their operations. The roundtable, hosted by the NFIB, brought together six small business owners for a tax-focused discussion. Concerns were raised about rising healthcare costs for employees and the impact of the 2025 tax package. The cost of credit card processing fees, often called swipe fees, was also discussed. Business leaders said the 20% small-business tax deduction provides stability and allows owners to reinvest in their companies and employees.
