U.S. film and TV production in Canada rebounded in 2025, rising by 9.5 percent to CAN$5.32 billion (US$3.9 billion), according to the latest annual economic report from the Canadian Media Producers Association. This growth was largely due to TV series production rising by 12.1 percent and other foreign production increasing by 54.4 percent. However, this rebound offset a 2.2 percent fall in local homegrown film and television series production. Major American players now include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV+. The rebound was down from the record CAN$6.62 billion in budgetary spending reached in 2023.
