Astronomers have captured an image of a spiral galaxy, NGC 941, which is located around 55 million light-years away from Earth and is considered an "intermediate spiral galaxy" by definition. The image shows a spinning spiral galaxy with prominent central dark lanes of cosmic dust, indicating ongoing star formation. NGA 941 also appears to show more distant background galaxies.
