Japanese director Kimura Taichi's "Fujiko" won the Mulberry Audience Award at the 28th Far East Film Festival. The film, set in Shizuoka during the 1970s and '80s, follows a single mother navigating personal freedom amid social upheaval. The Korean documentary "The Seoul Guardians," a live chronicle of a coup d'état, came in second and tied for third place with "Fouquiko." The festival also honored Yakusho Koji and Yuen Woo-ping with the Golden Mulberry Award for lifetime achievement and Fan Bingbing with the outstanding achievement. The online edition generated over 7,000 hours of viewing, with Okuyama Yoshiyuki's "5 Centimeters Per Second" winning the Purple Mulberry award as voted by online audiences.
