Thousands expected for San Diego Crew Classic at Crown Point

The San Diego Crew Classic, known as the most anticipated rowing regattas in the US, is set to take place at Mission Bay from March 27-29, with tens of thousands of spectators expected to attend. Over 4,000 athletes will compete in 140 races. The event's executive director, Bobbie Smith, revealed that this year's total of 445 entries and 100 clubs were made up of 4,005 competitors. Two new components are set to debut in 2026, including beach sprints for the first time, a new type of rowing that most people aren't familiar with.
