Homeless advocates are ramping up outreach during a heat wave in Phoenix, following the death of a woman known as Mama Dee who lived on the street for 10 years. The woman was about to embark on a life-changing transformation and had been living on the streets with her cats. Volunteers say Dee was the kind of person who gave away some of the donations she received to other people in need. The heat wave is causing concern for homeless advocates, particularly as summer approaches.
