Liberty GM lauds ‘phenomenal’ Natasha Cloud as her WNBA free agency lingers

Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb has publicly supported free agent Natasha Cloud, who remains unsigned a week into WNBA training camps. Kolb praised Cloud as a phenomenal teammate and an "awesome human being". The Liberty traded two first-round picks for Cloud last March in a trade with the Phoenix Mercury. She helped the team achieve a franchise-best 9-0 start and was seen as a replacement for Courtney Vandersloot who left the Liberty in free agency. However, the team's backcourt partnership with Sabrina Ionescu was not as seamless as they hoped. Once free agency began, the Liberty signed Satou Sabally to a two-year deal that all but eliminated Cloud's return.
