Epstein saga casts shadow over King Charles visit to US

The controversies surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and former UK Ambassador Peter Mandelson, could overshadow King Charles III's upcoming state visit to the US, his first American state visit since becoming monarch. The six-day visit is primarily intended to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. However, questions about these relationships could overshadow the royals' activities. A private meeting with survivors of Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is unlikely due to the ongoing criminal investigations into Mountbattatten-Wor and Mandelson. Lawyers representing the king and queen stated that while these investigations and assessments continue, their Majesties are unable to directly discuss these matters directly.
