The Boston Red Sox have called up right-hander Jack Anderson to help keep the pitching staff afloat following a short outing from Garrett Crochet. The move comes after the Red Sox had to cut down on their already-depleted bullpen due to injuries to Johan Oviedo and left-hander Tyler Samaniego. Anderson, who has never pitched in the majors, was originally acquired as a minor league Rule 5 selection from the Detroit Tigers in 2021. He posted a 4.57 ERA with 101 strikeouts in 86 2/3 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A last season.
