New York jumps to No. 3 for US alien abductions — experts reveal why it’s such a hot zone

New York has been named the third most likely place to get abducted in the US, according to Casino.ca's annual ranking, which was conducted to honor National Alien Abduction Day on March 20. The Empire State has reported 8,314 UFO sightings since 1974, or one for every 1,003 residents. This places it just behind Washington (7,595 reported sightings), and Delaware (one for every 928 residents). California was ranked 22 on the list, with one UFO sighting per every 2,708 residents. Recent sightings reportedly included a "white, Tic-Tac-shaped object in the sky" and a "silver orb flying overhead". Experts attribute many of these sightings to many people being unfamiliar with stargazing.
