Baton Rouge woman wanted for attempted murder arrested after high-speed chase

Amberiyon Mitchell, a Baton Rouge woman, was arrested following a high-speed pursuit on I-49 on Tuesday afternoon from the scene of a traffic detail on the southbound lane of the interstate. The suspect, identified as AkeiriyonMitchell, led deputies on a high speed chase and attempted to ram both deputy units and nearly hit several vehicles. Mitchell was arrested without further incident and transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail. An investigation determined that Mitchell had several warrants from the Baton Rouge Police Department for attempted first-degree murder, simple burglary, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to property, aggravated flight from an officer, and other charges.
