Canadian producers Wookey Films and Chasseurs Films have partnered to produce Guillaume Lonergan's debut feature, "Denise sans Denis," starring Josée Deschênes. The dark comedy follows a 60-year-old woman determined to break free from a lifetime of self-sacrifice, only to lead to chaotic consequences. The film is produced by Janelle Wookery and Jérémie Wookely of Winnipeg-based Wookeer Films and Laurent Allaire of Chasseur Films in Québec. The script by Paul Ruban is described as “darkly funny, biting and unexpectedly heartfelt” and is set in the city of Winnipeg. The cast includes Claude Legault, Gilles Renaud, Katrine Deniset and Micheline Marchildon.
