A West Haven man is accused of attempting to get into the driver's seat of a police car, thinking it would be his get-away car. The incident occurred while East Lyme police were investigating a woman who was operating a vehicle while intoxicated. While the woman was being tested for impairment, her male passenger was speaking to a second officer. A struggle ensued and the man was eventually taken into custody. He is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
