Standout spring has Rumfield set for potential Opening Day start -- and MLB debut

RockRocky Rumfield, a 25-year-old left-handed player who joined the team from the Yankees in a trade, has been performing well this spring, with a Cactus League slash line of.295/.385/.568 with four home runs and 11 RBIs in 19 games. Rumfield has five walks to one strikeout and is expected to make his Major League debut in the Rockies' starting lineup at Miami on March 27. He credits the success of 430 Minor League games in the Phillies' (2022) and Yankees' systems for building confidence in his hitting approach and managing hot streaks and lulls.
