Police were called to the scene of a two-car crash on the I-271 southbound exit ramp at Chagrin Boulevard on March 25, where a third vehicle was also stopped. The driver of the other vehicle said he was there to protect the drunk driver who caused the accident. The man's speech was slurred and he had difficulty finding his driver’s license. He was arrested for disorderly conduct after giving as his address one in East Cleveland, not Maple Heights. The arrest came on the man's 52nd birthday. The woman and man, who live together and share a 5-year-old child, were also charged with domestic violence by a 35-year man.
