Alex Warren, who was nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards for Best New Artist, experienced a performance malfunction at the ceremony when his in-ears failed to work. Despite rehearsing for the event, Warren continued with the performance despite the malfunction. He believes it may have been due to the radio frequency from the number of cell phones in use in the arena. The malfunction left him unable to properly hear himself and he spent almost all of his set unable to hear himself. Warren was so distraught that he wanted to leave the ceremony, especially during the announcement of Olivia Dean's award.
