The San Diego Padres are considering trading closer Mason Miller to help alleviate some of their farm system issues. Miller, who is currently the best reliever in baseball, has three more years of team control on his contract and could help the Padres gain a significant return. The team is also dealing with financial issues with multiple players under expensive long-term contracts. According to Padres insider Kevin Acee, the team is considering moving Miller in a larger deal to help reduce the salary of infielder Xander Bogaerts. BogaERTs still has seven years left on his 11-year, $280 million deal he signed before 2023. Despite this, Bogaarts' performance hasn't lived up to expectations and his contract is a concern for the future of the Padres.
