Parking is becoming a premium near the NFL draft in Pittsburgh, with limited space and higher prices increasing competition and creativity. Pittsburgh Public Schools is leasing parking lots at its North Side schools after shifting students to remote learning during the draft due to road closures and congestion. The district hopes this revenue will benefit the district's general fund and help draw value from parking visitors who would otherwise otherwise use for free. Meanwhile, animal shelters, public schools, and private residents are offering parking spots for $150 per day at their North Side shelter to support their nonprofit operations. Hundreds of parking spots near Acrisure are still available for purchase through JustPark, which has seen a surge in demand as people prepare for the draft.
