China's Guangzhou offers homebuying incentives to support property market

China's housing provident fund programme has offered incentives for homebuyers to take out more mortgages. The city will subsidise up to 30,000 yuan ($4,395) per housing unit for residents who buy a new home by the end of 2026 and sell an old one within a year. The government is encouraging state-owned firms to buy second-hand homes for affordable housing and other schemes. The guidelines also call for better protection of homebuyer rights and increased participation in urban renewal projects.
