A highway worker with the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration, Robert Dempsey, was fatally injured when he was hit by a passing vehicle. The driver of the Mazda CX5, Joshua Anderson, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported. The investigation into the accident continues, with several lanes closed for nearly five hours.
