Snow, Freezing Rain, and snow are expected to move into Eastern Pennsylvania, with significant accumulations expected early in the morning hours of Tuesday. The National Weather Service does not expect major impacts, with accumulations likely to be minimal. However, temperatures will rise sharply, rising to the mid 50s on Wednesday, high 50s Thursday, low 60s Friday, and possibly even into the 70s by the weekend. Forecasters predict a significant pattern change across the United States mid-week, with a dip in the jet stream moving towards the west and a northward bulge in the east promoting springlike warmth. The snow and freezing rain on Tuesday will add to what has been the snowiest winter in the region for years.
