Dallas and Plano Detectives Solve Child Sexual Assault Cold Case

The Dallas Police Department and Plano Police have solved a child sexual assault case that occurred in 1991. The case was never solved. In 2004, a DNA profile was developed and matched to an unsolved case involving a 9-year-old girl. The detective involved in the case used the Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy technique to identify a suspect. Nicholas Carney was identified and convicted of the crimes.
