Canada's Cenovus Energy posts higher first-quarter profit

The Canadian company, Cenovus Energy, has reported a significant increase in its net earnings to C$1.57 billion ($1.14 billion), or 83 Canadian cents per diluted share for the three months ending March 31, from $859 million.
