A new poll by Quinnipiac University has found that most registered voters blame President Trump for rising gas prices, with 51% blaming him "a lot" for the increase, while 14% are "some". The national gas price average is $4.04 per gallon, compared to $3.17 per gallon the previous year. The increase in gas prices is largely due to the slowing of oil being transported through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran closed after the start of the U.S.- and Israeli-led war. The poll also revealed that 91% of Democrats blame Trump for the price spike, 6% blame him "some," and 1% blame "not much". However, 23% do not believe him at all.
