Indiana's largest pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly, has signed a letter of intent to partner with the state to explore the feasibility of nuclear power for the state. The move is seen as crucial for meeting the needs of state data centers. The agreement will involve two years of exploration of the technical, economic, regulatory and environmental feasibility of small modular reactors (SMRs), which theoretically could be factory-built and assembled on site. This could help the state's energy needs and could align with Gov. Mike Braun's policy goal of reducing energy costs.
