Hobart data center open house answers some questions but not all

Hobart resident Alice Pawlowski attended an open house hosted by Amazon at Hobart High School, which was attended by dozens of residents. The event was held with booths with Amazon experts discussing topics such as environment, workforce development, acoustics, water and what a data center is. Scott Eckhardt, principal economic development for Amazon Web Services (AWS), said he was eager to answer questions about the project and that it is crucial for the project to be done "right." However, some residents were not satisfied with Eckhardt's welcoming comments at the open house. The project is set to go before the Hobart Plan Commission on May 7 and could begin construction in the summer.
