United States manager Mauricio Pochettino has named Gio Reyna as a "very special talent" despite his lack of playing time at club level for the USMNT. Reyna has played only 26 minutes for club side Borussia Monchengladbach since the start of 2026 and hasn't played in the last two months due to a muscle injury. However, he was impressed by Reyna's performances during the November international window, which included a goal in a 2-1 win over Paraguay and an assist off the bench in a 5-1 victory over Uruguay. Despite this, he believes Reyna can add value to the national team and is capable of performing well with them.
