Suspect Accused Of Stealing $4,700 Worth Of Allergy Medicine From Pharmacy In Westport: Police

A 44-year-old man from Woodside, New York, Demetrius Mariakakis is accused of stealing nearly $5,000 worth of allergy medication from a Walgreens pharmacy in Westport, Connecticut. He was charged with third-degree larceny for the theft of about $2,700 worth of the medication in August 2023 and was also charged with fourth-degree felony in relation to a similar incident in December 2023. The suspect is being held in lieu of bail at $40,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on May 6.
