Todd Kindergartners in Briarcliff Manor, New York, have been learning about recycling and reusing. Naturalist Dan Novak, a naturalist with Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES Center for Environmental Education, visited all kindergarten classes to teach students how to reduce, reuse and recycle. He demonstrated how various objects, such as pencil or cardboard, can be repurposed or recycled and shared ideas for repurposing them. Novak also demonstrated how a cardboard egg carton can be reused to make plants by filling it with soil and seeds. The lesson inspired students to recycle and reuse more often.
