Apple has switched from using text to glyphs in its keyboards for the latest US versions of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and matching this in the new MacBook Neo. This change has been noted by Dan Moren, who noted it as an outlier for the US. The change is likely to have a practical impact on verbal communication between the user and non-tech users. Several keys have completely changed their language, including those for tab, return and delete. The glyphs for Control (⌃) and Option were previously labelled only by name, but this change has now been confirmed.
