Kenneth Gibson, the homeless man accused of random stabbing an elderly woman in the neck in Downtown LA, is already on parole for killing another man. The attack left Riffat Sultana Kazmi in a critical condition. Gibson was previously identified as a suspect in the May 23 killing of a homeless man at a homeless encampment. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the attack as a "senseless crime" that left Kazmi critically ill. Gibson is facing five charges related to the stabbing, including that he used a deadly weapon in the crime.
