The Labour mayor of York and North Yorkshire, David Skaith, and the Scarborough MP, will continue campaigning for half-hourly trains on the line. Additional services will be provided in each morning and evening to meet demand at peak times. The announcement comes as part of a wider effort to train new drivers and conductors.
