Illinois' top prosecutor, the Illinois Attorney General, has warned that privacy may be at risk due to loopholes in private data brokers. Much of your information is bought and sold by private firms and some is obtained by federal agencies. The state's ability to monitor intimate details of your private life has increased with the buying and selling of personal data now being analyzed with artificial intelligence. The AG, along with 16 other attorneys general, is urging Congress to close loopholes allowing the federal government to buy bulk data on Americans without a judicial warrant. The potential for misuse or even misidentification of profiles by AI models could lead to severe consequences.
