The most beautiful place in Europe was named by Time Out's travel writers as Lake Ohrid, a body of water that stretches between Albania and North Macedonia, which is often overlooked for large crowds. While Lake Como attracts over one million tourists each year, there are other stunning lakeside landscapes across Europe that offer a quieter alternative. The North Macedonian side of the lake is particularly notable, with the city of Ohrid featuring cobbled streets, hundreds of medieval churches and a shoreline dotted with historic towns. Other notable destinations included a trulli town in Italy's Puglia region, London's Kew Gardens, and a Gaudí masterpiece in Barcelona.
