A First Warn Weather Day is in effect for Kansas City, with the potential for strong to severe storms. A Level 2/5 severe weather risk is in place for much of the region, although western parts of Atchison, Franklin, and Douglas Counties in Kansas have been upgraded to a Level 3/5 risk. A line of storms expected to move through the evening, with some of the strongest storms potentially producing severe weather. The highest risk is from the Level 3 zone west of Kansas City. Despite this, there is a low flood threat across the area. The primary severe threat is damaging wind and isolated spin-up tornadoes. The most likely time for rain is late afternoon into Sunday night.
