Trial date set in Stefon Diggs assault and strangulation case

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing several criminal charges related to assault and strangulation. The charges stem from an alleged dispute with his former private chef last year. A pre-trial hearing was held Wednesday, but Diggs was not required to attend as he is out of state. The trial date for Diggs' alleged assault is set for May 4. The case could be dismissed if Diggs and the former chef resolve the financial dispute.
