Claudia Carolina Rodriguez Caglianone, a legal U.S. resident from Venezuela, was released from Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after two weeks of confinement. Rodriguez had been living in South Florida on a tourist visa and had applied for political asylum six months after her arrival. She was arrested at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and transferred to the Broward Transitional Center in Pompano Beach. Despite this, she remains uncertain about her future in South Miami. U.K. Rep. Debbie Wasserman, D-Weston, who advocated for Rodriguez's release, warned that 300,000 Florida families who had their Temporary Protected Status (TPS) revoked by the Trump Administration, which also cancelled TPS for hundreds of thousands of Haitians.
