The Dodgers lost 6-4 to the Cubs in the series opener at Dodger Stadium, despite a strong start from 24-year-old right-hander Emmet Sheehan who dominated the game. Despite a strong performance from the Cubs, the Dodgers were unable to maintain control over their lead. Sheehenh, who had a 5.85 ERA, went 6 1/3 innings and tied his career-high with 10 strikeouts. However, Alex Vesia, who was replaced due to injuries, gave up two knocks and a solo shot to Alex Bregman that tied the game at four. The Dodgers have now lost five of their last eight games and face questions about their bullpen.
