3 MV Hondius cruise ship passengers dead, another fighting for their life after suspected hantavirus outbreak

Three passengers have died and a fourth is fighting for their life following a suspected hantavirus outbreak on the MV. The first victim, a 70-year-old man, suffered a fatal hemorrhagic fever and his wife died shortly afterwards at a hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa. The World Health Organization confirmed that one case of hantvirus was confirmed, with five other suspected cases still pending. The outbreak occurred during the journey between Argentina and Cape Verada.
